Internet in Telluride and Mountain Village
I was recently asked by a visitor, if there is Public Internet in Mountain Village and Telluride.
Short Answer: Yes.
So I thought I would put together a evolving list of Wired and WiFi sites in Telluride and Mountain Village.
No-IP: Managed DNS. Make a Dynamic IP into a "static" one.
Case Study: Unless you have (pay for) a static IP from you internet provider, they can (and will) switch your IP address on you. Why is this important you ask?
Virtual Memory Low
Case Study: Today, I was asked "also the Virtual Memory Low window pops up for no good reason".
My first response back to him, was to check his disk space, since virtual memory swaps out to disk.
But lets dig deeper into this.
Checking your RAM (Computer's Memory) For Errors using Microsoft Windows Diagnostic
Case Study: On my older Dell Dimension with 1K of RAM, applications that I would run would crash at random times, at random spots. The crash could happen soon after the application was started or 5-20 minutes later.
Possible Causes:
- Bad "bit" of memory (RAM)
- Some other reason.
Possible Solution: For this blog post, I will test the RAM in the machine. Since I am running Windows on this machine, I will use the Microsoft Windows Diagnostic.
Forgotten Windows XP Administrator Password
I was helping a client move data from Dell D505 Laptop, that the screen went out on.
After plugging it into a monitor, I thought things were going smooth. Then the question of "Ok, it is asking for you Administrator password". We tried many, many different options, but none worked.

In my opinon if you have a Pocket PC, Pocket Informant 8 by WebIS is a must have. I just installed Pocket Informant 8, and it improved on a great interface without getting in your way.

[Update (9/18/08): My Pocket PC, finally stop working, switched to an iTouch, so I won't be updating this review any more. However, it was my favorite app on the Pocket PC]
